Grandparents Day and Apples! What a great combination!

This week seemed to fly by...as they all tend to do! We had such a wonderful time having our special guests come visit us! We also did many fun things with apples this week and worked on the letter Aa and the number 4.

Thursday:
A special hour of special visitors...I can feel the love in this room!

Our thumbprint family tree! We framed it as a gift for our grandparents!
Reading buddies!

We worked together to make special frames...with a surprise picture that we took before our grandparents came!

LOVE!!!

My special girl for the day! She LOVES Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

Apple Snack! Which one will we like best?

Let's make a graph!

Granny Smith seem to be the favorite!

Paper Tearing apples...that may look a bit like a tomato!

Tearing paper is a great fine motor skill! The smaller the pieces the harder it is to tear! Can your child tear small pieces?

Now let's add a hand print for the stem!

Pete the Cat and his 4 Groovy Buttons! A fun way to learn about 4!

Dancing apple seeds...

Friday:
We began with our apple craft...as it dried we would label the parts of the apple.

A special snack brought to us by this sweet buddy! Biscuits and apple butter! What a fun thing for them to try! We LOVE apples!

Letter Hunt!

Number Sense with number 4!

Great job sweet buddy! I used pom-poms and did not glue them down so you could have them practice this activity at home with you!

Our independent little ones dotting the letter Aa!

Perfection!

After I drew the first groups apple seeds on their apple...I realized I had left over real seeds! This ended up being great practice for their little hands to pick the seeds up one-by-one!

The highlight of our day! Erupting apples! First carve out the center...and fill the hole with baking soda...

Next I poured vinegar (that we colored with food coloring) into the carved out apple!

and look what happened!

What fun! And so easy to do it at home!
