Taste the rainbow!

Rainbows are such a fun and beautiful thing to teach! We learned about the Lord's promise that he gave us with a rainbow...how many colors are in the rainbow...and how rainbows are made. Although I missed Friday, the kiddos had all the fun lessons still taught! Take a look! And a huge "Thank You" to Mrs. Trina for leading on Friday! I am not sure what I would do without her!

Thursday:
Catching a rainbow. This was a fun science experiment that took the 3 primary colors and showed the kiddos how when they mix they make the colors of the rainbow!

who knew that milk and food coloring could be so interesting??

Now comes the magic part...dish soap! A little dish soap causes the colors to mix!

What a pretty rainbow!

Then they got to draw what they saw!

Gumby is having the time of his life!

Painting with Puffy paint is always fun! If you ever want to do this at home it is an equal mixture of paint, shaving cream, and glue!

Look at this lucky charm!

I caught "Me lucky Charm!"

Hand painted leprechauns of course!

We had white carnations, food coloring, water, and best of all PREDICTIONS!
What will happen to these flowers?

We LOVE science in Mrs. Laura's room! Our prediction was that the flowers would change to the color of the water...

Friday:
Thank you to this special visitor playing the bagpipes! Mrs. Laura was sad she missed this treat!

Such great fine motor skills...painting on glue with a thin paint brush! We can make our very own pots of rainbows!

At the end of the rainbow we found our very own special pots of gold!

Time to taste the rainbow...with those infamous Skittles!
But first we must work on our math skills...counting using 1:1...sorting...and graphing! Did you know that candy could teach us so many wonderful things??

Great job smart friends! And I just realized there are no blue skittles...stop the madness...something needs to be done about that!!

One Fish...2 Fish...Dr. Seuss School of Fish!

Finally! I am back up on Blogger! A huge thanks to my husband who figured out this whole mess! I never knew getting a new phone would be such a hassle!
This year I really embraced Dr. Seuss! The kiddos love him and he has so many wonderful life lessons! We began working on rhyming words...this will be something we do each day from now on!
We also said goodbye to a very special friend this week! He will be missed for sure...and we hope that they send us some sunshine from Arizona!

Thursday:
We began our Day with this major tongue twister...I challenge you to read it with out messing up!
Look at these fox in their silly socks!
We actually watched this book on the T.V. a fun and different way for kiddos to hear a story! And I left that book at home!

Horton hears a who??

He is so thrilled!
dr seuss birthday crafts handprint - Google Search OHHHH MY FAV BOOK! So doing this for my door!

Get ready for the overload of playing outside pictures! He haven't had this much play since...well...maybe November!

Just look at these sweet friends! There is no greater learning than social play!

These chicks are ready to roll!

so sweet! She just LOVES school!

Dr. Seuss and the ABC's

Math time with bubbles! We had to look at the numbers and add that many cherrios to the fish bowl!

Here is my biggest observation: Kiddos have great 1:1 until about 6...after that they seem to count faster than their sweet little fingers can move. At home you can have them work at that...just remind them to point as they count...and SLOW down!

Dr. Seuss Number matching! I found some great finds at the Clarksville Target....in the $1 spot!
Friday:
We started out our Day with this classic...

Love this Cats in their hats! Every kiddos wore a hat to school!
This was  by far the kiddos favorite story this week!

We made our very own Wockets...for our sweet Pockets!

Super Cute Wocket...just perfect for his pocket!

This sweet girl brought in this special cookies for each of the kiddos!

Y is for yarn! The kiddos had to pick up pieces of yarn 1 by one...such a great fine motor task. Pinching this fine pieces can be quite challenging!

Yy "4 box sheet!"

Thanks to a parent for sending these colorful fish in! I have a memory of a fish and kept forgetting to buy some! This was a fun activity! I gave each kiddo a handful of gold fish. They had to sort them out, count each color they had, tell me which they had the most of and least of, and count them all together. This is where I was able to do a quick assessment to see if they had 1:1 correspondence for numbers above 10. I stapled the assessment to their sheet.

A celebration of our Friend!

We hope to keep in touch via "Facetime" once in a while! We got him a Gumby so he could write to us all of his adventures! He and his family are welcoming visitors to Arizona...let them know if they have any takers!!
What a fun week we had! Next week we look forward to rainbows! Enjoy this sunshine!
