Farm Frenzy!

This week soared by. Mostly because so much end of the year stuff is happening! I also want to apologize for the lack of pictures this week. It wasn't because I just didn't take any...but rather we have so many secrets going on in our room right now! Don't worry...you will soon see what we have been up to!

An extra special snack brought to us by this sweet boy!

Tracing skills! My have we grown this year!

Look at those grips! Such improvement!

Fine motor time...adding popcorn kernels to our corn on the cobs. Such a tricky task picking up those little kernels one-by-one!

Look! It is stuck to my finger!

Enjoying this beautiful day!

Sweet buddies!

He asked me to protect him from the zombies! So I did my best and snapped a selfie!

Best of friends!

Playing is such hard work!

Sitting pretty!

Piglet snacks! Yum!

Painting mud for our pigs!

Gotcha!
Again...I apologize for the short blog and lack of pictures. I know I usually overwhelm you and have tons to say. We really did work hard this week for our moms and dads...we just can't show you right now what we have been up to! But...you will soon see what our little hands have been creating...and treasure them forever! Keep dry this weekend and we will be doing lots with the Kentucky Derby theme next week!

Plants and Gardens

A fun week to explore another type of life cycle...plants! The kiddos had fun comparing plants to butterflies and frogs! We learned what plants need to grow and why they stop growing. We even talked about plants that we eat (this will tie in great with our farm theme next week). We also covered the letter Zz and continued with numbers 1-10.

Thursday:
We read the story a "Tiny Seed" by Eric Carle.
Then we made bird feeders made of tiny seeds.

A simple and sticky project!

Sweet friends helping one another!

"dirt and worms" for snack...brought by this sweet boy!

We took a close look at a flower and examined each part very carefully. It was neat to look at the roots up close!
We also learned that the flower needs its roots to grow! If we pick it...it won't grow anymore!

Z is for zebra! We tore pieces of paper to give this zebra some stripes!

So hard for those sweet fingers!

Now onto our cool flowers. This was a 2 day project. We put the parts on the flower the first day and labeled it on Friday.

Flower with petals, stem, leaves, and roots.
Friday:
Each kiddos got to paint their own flower pot. We used acrylic paint and they were sprayed and sealed too so watering them shouldn't be a problem.

These sweet kiddos worked super hard! Such great artists I have.

Perfection!
After we painted we got to plant something...perfect since today was Earth Day!
The kiddos got to choose between flower seeds or herb seeds!

A huge thanks to Mrs. Hannah for helping out today! Mrs. Laura planned lots of fun things today!

We learned that plants need,: dirt, seeds, water, and air to grow!

Just look at these tiny seeds!

After we planted them we labeled what it was that we chose to grow.

So proud!

Super cute!
Our letter Zz 4 box sheet.

Peeling those stickers is a tough job! Awesome work sweet buddy!

Finishing up our flower activity!
We labeled the parts and then added some color by using dotters!

Finalized project...done to perfection by these sweet kiddos!
What a fun week exploring plants and flowers! Next week we will explore farms...and this will connect great with our plants theme that we did this week.
