Eric Carle....

I could spend several weeks on this theme. The beloved Eric Carle has so many wonderful story books and his illustrations just capture your eyes! We had some fun with science, worked on the number 3, and visited both Ee and Cc (ooopppsss).

Thursday:
All about me...

He's not happy to give up his bucket!

Playing a spin off of "Brown Bear, Brown Bear What do you see?"
We played  this with the pictures of our friends to help learn their names...

Showing me their grouchy faces...

We made grouchy faces and painted ladybugs after reading,
"The Very grouchy Ladybug"

Cc is for caterpilar

Adding segments to our caterpillars. I sent the pom-poms home so they could model how they are counting using 1:1

Friday:
2 cool gals! Sweet gal is sharing her all about me bucket!

All smiles here!

Working on our first initial of our name...and using Eric Carle art to make these.
These turned out super cute...and could be framed!

Also...this is an amazing fine motor skill!

She loves her bugs!

Science time!
After reading, "Little Cloud" We made a cloud of our own using water and shaving cream. We then added water colors to make it rain,.

Such an easy and fun experiment! This truly captures their attention!

When a cloud is full of moisture...it rains!

Look how awesome these are!

Retelling the "Very Hungry Caterpillar"
Retelling is the beginning stages of reading.

After reading, "The Mixed up Chameleon"...we discussed what makes us unique

There is a smile and some perfect work!

This gal says she is never grouchy and can't make a grouchy face!

These are such treasures and will be put in their portfolios!
What a great week. Next week we will be exploring apples!
