Love...hearts...and more!

Parents! This week...finally a full week! And what a week it was. We (as always) were super busy. We completed assessments, had some Valentine's Day fun, and of course learned a ton about the number 5 and the letter /Vv/

Monday...
We started with a fun activity...This is a fun craft that you can easily do at home!

First they decorate coffee filters any way they want...

Then you add water with a dropper to make it grow!

Our special friend got to share what he did with Gumby! So much fun!!

This was the challenge of the week! I had written out the kiddos names on hearts...and them dumped them out on the table. They had to locate all of the letters in their name! I wrote their name on the bottom of the paper to give those who needed it that little extra boost!
They had to order the letters.

And you know me adding some fine motor fun they had to peel the stickers and stick them on!

Our love bugs are complete! Great job you smart kiddos!

Lacing hearts! Such a great fine motor skill! The lacing part has come a long way...now add an extra challenge and make them unlace it once they are finished! That really takes focus on their eyes and fingers!

For one part of our math we worked on counting hearts and then finding the corresponding number. Mrs. Trina focused on the 1-1 correspondence with the counting.
Great job buddy! He found the matching heart!

Our other math activity for the day was "1 little, 2 little, 3 little hearts" I taught them this song and we sung it over and over again while I traced their hands.

We then counted our fingers...
Then we added hearts to each finger...they had to count our the amount they needed (10 of course!) and glue them on!

Tuesday...
We are letter detectives...Hunting for all of the V's in our poem! This smart buddy found one!

Super job sweet girl! This activity allows the kiddos to make the connection that letters make up words...and important part to becoming beginning readers! This is something you can do in their bed time stories! Ask them to find you letters that we have covered or worked on during the week!

Decorating our Valentine's Day bags...

B-E-A-U-T-iful!

My favorite craft of the year thus far! And boy are their tootsies ticklish!

You know me...back to that tearing of paper. Some kiddos are still struggling with this...let's build their hand strength! They can do this for you at home!!!

4 box sheet with the number 5!

This awesome mama prepared the craft for our kiddos...and these mosaics are super awesome!

The kiddos had a blast creating their masterpieces!
A little bit of math and a little bit of candy!

First they sorted by colors...

Great sorting buddy!

Then they graphed. This wonderful mama asked many great math questions. Such as, "Which one do you have the most/least of?" "How many more of ___ do you have than ___?" and my favorite..."What happens when you eat one!?!"

Game time! A little bit of musical hearts!

I think they are having fun...how about you!?!

Spoon races with a heart in it...who can get it to the bowl first?
Super great job...and this takes a lot of coordination skills for them to do this...I think they are getting the hang of it!

We can't have a party without the snack!

Cupcakes and Rice Krispie Treats...Yup...then I send them home!

Don't think you can sneak in and not be put to work! This awesome daddy added the sweet words to our Valentine's Day feet...He knows I have a phobia of chalk! Thank you!

A huge thank you to all of the parents that helped make our Valentine's Day activities so much fun! They took the stress off of me so I can stick to what I do best...the teaching end!
