Presidents

This was an interesting week for the kiddos. We talked about the different leaders our country has had! We learned lots about George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. We learned that Abraham was the tallest president to take office at 6 foot 4...and George Washington was the first president. We worked on sorting pennies and quarters and talked about the things we noticed on each coin. We worked on the letter Kk and continued with counting objects to 10.

Thursday:
Adventures with Pokey!

Adventures with Gumby!

We took a poll on who wanted to be President of the United States...This sweet boy is up for the job!
We then talked about what we would do if we were President!

Seriously...70 degrees in February!
We won't complain!

A fun way to work on our shapes!

A sweet problem solver!

Our new name sheets!
I could NOT have been more amazed with these kiddos! I just tickled to see how awesome they were at these!

 Friday:
We  talked about how the flag represents countries. We learned that our flag has 50 stars and 13 stripes.

Sorting out pennies and quarters. I sent these home so they could show you how awesome they are at this activity!

We looked at each of our coins and then did a fun counting experiment. How many drops of water will each coin hold?
We made a prediction that the bigger the coin the more water it would hold...Such smart buddies I have!

We counted 1 by 1 each drop

They were correct!

What an awesome week! Next week is all about Dr. Seuss!
