Eric Carle Fun...

What a great week learning about Eric Carle and his wonderful stories and art. This week we had a focus on the letter Ee and the number 3.  I was even able to tie some science in!

Thursday:
I made these this week for your kiddo to use. They can practice tracing their names with their fingers. I have used glitter glue to give it a texture. This is a great sensory tool for the kiddos to use when learning the letters in their names.
*Please Keep These on Their school bags...We will use these in the classroom too!!

After reading one of Eric Carle's most famous stories...The Very Hungry Caterpillar...we made caterpillars of our own!

balloon art is fun!

Friend time

A future doctor...

We practiced making grouchy faces after reading, Grouchy Ladybug

They also told me what makes them grouchy!

The number 3

Retelling...this is the first stage in reading!
Friday:
This week I started the "All about Me" buckets.

We love learning about our sweet friends. This is also a great time for them to learn how to speak in front of others.

More retelling!

Play time...social and interactive play is super important to these little ones!

We read, Little Cloud
We then made a cloud and told us what we saw!

Our finished caterpillars...

Our Grouchy Ladybugs...
Best response ever...this is how I feel when my sweet kiddos go home!

Great job keeping these name tags on their bags! I hope they are enjoying practicing at home!

Ee is for eyes! This was a great fine motor skill peeling stickers...

Those tiny fingers are hard at work...

Ee...box sheet

This was a great activity for the kiddos. In the center of the table I put lots of pom--poms. They had to grab and count out 3 to add to their caterpillar. This is a great concept to work on to build number sense and 1:1 counting.

When clouds fill up with moisture (like in the book, Little Cloud) They rain. So we made our clouds in the jar rain with food coloring. This activity is super simple and really fun. All you need is a jar, water, shaving cream, and food coloring.

I had the kiddos color what they saw. This is the fun part of science...observing and documenting!

Eric Carle fun! So many wonderful children's books. We will continue him as our author of the month.
