Space

Space week was so much fun...and there were so many great things to do!

We loved learning all about the sun, the moon, our planet earth and many other things within our solar system...including gravity. I showed the kiddos a few videos of astronauts in space doing everyday things like washing their hair, eating a sandwich, and brushing their teeth (there was lots of giggles during these short clips)

We worked on the letter Ss, we traced our names with stars to make constellations, worked on the number 8,we had fun shadow matching, and even turning ourselves into astronauts (you can hang these sweet astronauts on your refrigerator)

We finished our January them, "With God ANYTHING is Possible"

This week at home ask your child to...
1. Count to 20
2. Trace their name and verbally spell it
3. Tell you what gravity is
4. Tell you who made EVERYTHING in space.
5. Tell you something that begins with the letter Ss (have them sing the alphabet brew poem to you...it's in their poetry folder)

Our dot sheet...S is for Star

Sorting capital and lowercase Ss

Making our names into constellations.

This is a great fine motor skill too!!

Space in our sensory bin

Playtime=building imaginations

Playtime=making friends and learning how to share

Making our very own planets and we even got to choose what to name them

These are, our new name sheets...
we build with magnetic letters, then we trace our names, and then we try to write it on our own

Look at these cute little astronauts!

making the sun.
We added red and yellow drops of paint (they learned that it made orange) and then they smeared it around to make it look like fire!
Ask your kiddo what color the hottest star is...blue
Ask them about the sun being a star

A few pieces of our artwork

Pretending that the sun didn't have any gravity...

They LOVED this!

What a fun week!
