Farm...animals...and end of the year stuff!

What a fun week learning about farm animals and faring! As always 2 days is never enough time to do all that I want! We also did end of the year assessing this week...I can't believe how much they have grown socially, academically, and even fine motor wise!

Monday:
Big Red Barn and A Busy Day on the Farm.
2 Fun farm stories...

We made our own mud to paint with...because pigs like mud!
Just add oats, sand, and brown paint...gives it a mighty cool texture!

I am sure your kiddos have been singing, "Old McDonald Had a Farm..." Here is why!

Do you think we could go a week without doing something challenging for these fingers? Nope! They decorated a corn cob by using corn kernels. This was challenging to pick them up one-by-one.

Great Job sweet buddy!

Butterflies...Insects...and best of all mama's day!

What a fun week...we had a blast learning about the life cycle of butterflies and all about insects (6 legs, 3 body segments, 2 antennae) We also spent some time talking about the special lady in our lives...Our MOMS!!

Monday:
For our mamas we made special hand print potholders. Don't worry...I used fabric paint so feel free to actually use them and wash them!

a few books that we read!

Tuesday:
We did a bug sort...Insect/not an Insect
I was so excited about them figuring it out. Prior to the activity we had made list of what we knew about insects.

I was amazed watching them count the legs, body segments, and antennae. After they sorted the bug...they had to tell us why it was or wasn't an insect.

These are not insects!

Craft time...

Time to letter hunt and make a butterfly book. Mrs. Tracy helped out today while Trina was out. He was AMAZED on how smart these kiddos are...she could not believe how quickly they were able to do the letter hunt. Way to go kiddos!!

a bit of portfolio work

I is for insects. The kiddos pasted insects to the letter I...some even made patterns.
