Christmas and Polar Express

This was a fun week for the kiddos! We were able to do so many neat and fun things that tied into our learning. Many ornaments were made...I sure hope they add some fun to your tree at home! We also continued to focus on the letter R and review the numbers 0-5.

Making our special gift to our wonderful parents! These aren't just 5 little snowmen.

My favorite activity of the week. The kiddos had to arrange the letters in their name to spell their name correctly.

Many kiddos started putting the letters in order from right to left. Very common...daily practice will help that!

I stapled the bag on so they could practice with you at home. This is a simple yet very important skill for them!!

Independent station...making snowflake ornaments! Lots of glitter glue got used...

It may not seem like an important activity but squeezing the glue and making the design you want is an awesome fine motor task.

Our letter to Santa

There thoughts were sweet and so original.

P.J. day for Polar Express!

I read the story Polar Express...a classic Christmas story.

Then I passed out train tickets for all those who BELIEVE!

And we have believers!

Not as fancy as the real Polar Express conductor...but I did hole punch their tickets.

We had "hot chocolate" and cookies on our magical trip.

This face says it all!!

"The bell still rings for all those who truly believe"

We had a special visitor...

This made their morning...

Morning Story time.

Thumbprint reindeer ...

Super cute!
Indpendent letter "R" book

If I were Santa's elf at the North Pole...I would...

Animal and Person sort. Great thinking activity and cutting!

Our scissor grip is getting much better!  Cutting playdough or yarn is a great activity to do at home.

Our decorating station.

Our Cookie station

I love the licking of the plastic knife...YUMMY!
Our game station...where did the ball go?

Pin the Nose on Frosty

Around and Around we go!

Reindeer Food to help guide Santa's sleigh

One last Christmas story!

Have a super blessed and safe holiday! I can't wait to see all the kiddos after break!

Trains...

I was so bummed that we had a short week! 1 day is not enough! However, it is amazing how much we can do in just 1 day! Take a look...
Playdough...and we have new tools (thanks parents!)

Rolling, cutting, shaping...OH MY...what great ways to make those sweet hands strong!

0 book...always working on that grip!

Color by number...how did your kiddo do?

Hunt those capitol R's and lowercase r's

Make the R...4 different ways! Sorry about the white pain...hahaha! Mrs. Trina thought that is what I had pulled out...oops...she missed the red!
This is what the white paint was for...snowflakes around our train ornament...

Our newest addition to the minds-in-motion room! Now that is a slam dunk!
