Welcome back!! I hope you all had an amazing break, I know I did! I was so happy to see all of these sweet and smiling faces.
For our letter I decided to do Mm this week. We painted the letter Mm for mouse, went on a letter hunt, and added macaroni to the letter Mm. .
For our number sense we moved on to the number 6. They had to count out 6 chocolate chips to add to a cookie. We are getting much better about counting 1:1 and slowing our fingers and voices down as we count. Understanding value is a little trickier at this stage...we worked on it by staircase counting from the number 0-6...watching each number to increase by 1. We had fun rolling a dot cube and covering up that number of cookies.
The kiddos made an amazing calendar for you. We hope that you fill it up with memories to cherish during this 2020 year.
We read many, many Laura Numeroff books. They have learned her stories have circular endings...the endings are the same as the beginnings. I sent home with them one of her books to add to your collections!
A few other things we did this week was: We also practiced tracing with proper pencil grip, color matching with colors and color words, and we even did a memory match game.
This week we started our new bible verse. We know the bottom line is that we can do anything because of God.
This week at home:
1. Have your kiddo count to 20
2. Have them verbally spell their name and see if they can identify the letter their name begins with
3. See if they can hold scissors and/or pencil with proper grip
4. Tell you something they know about God

Mm is for macaroni...This a great fine motor skill. Pinching and grasping small items will help build hand strength and eye/hand coordination |
staircase counting to 6. Here they see how value grows and it builds on number sense. |
dot cube roll...the kiddos rolled the dot cube counted the dots and then located the number on the sheet adding that many little cookies to it. |
If you give a pig a pancake... |
If you give Mrs. Laura a pancake....she would want _______ to go with it! Check out their responses...they are hanging in the hallway. |
free play is so important...it builds 1. friendship 2. sharing 3. imagination and craft 4. Confidence 5. and soooo much more! |
What a great week back! I look forward to this next week! Have a blessed week and I will see you Thursday!
