Our bodies...We have 5 wonderful senses!

This week we focused on healthy foods, exercise, and our 5 senses. We were amazed that if we only used 1 of our 5 senses that is was tough to figure out what it was! But if we combined our senses...the puzzle could easily be solved! We also worked on the letter Nn.

*Also as you can tell from my lack of pictures...I was extremely under the weather. I apologize!

Thursday:
Well...I forgot to take pictures of our craft. You know I don't feel well when I forget to capture these sweet buddies in creativity mode! So here is what we did!

We read a book on our 5 senses and then pulled out Mr. Potato Head's body parts and discussed how we use each part!

We use our eyes to see!

Our ears to hear!
I brought in a microwave...and placed some popcorn inside it. During snack time we used our 5 senses to discover what it was! The senses that gave us the biggest clue was: our ears for hearing and our nose for smelling!

We got to taste and see!

Nn is for noodles!

We talked about healthy food and their colors...We then painted with them! What messy fun!

"Taste the Rainbow!"

We had a special visitor. She is Going to Romania to help orphans. And we will be collecting money for her organization "Forget Me Not"  This is a perfect time of the year to send our kiddos and important message about being thankful and about giving to others. Every little bit will help.
My special buddy for the day! Love him!
Friday:
Our last special friend!

We are growing acorns!

Such artist we have!

As if painting with fruit wasn't messy enough...Let's paint with cooked noodles. It was fun to watch the kiddos faces as they picked them up. They definitely used their sense of touch with this activity! Nn is for  more noodles!

A masterpiece!

What can it be?
It doesn't make any sound...

It smells like vanilla...

I forgot the picture the picture of them feeling it...It feels squishy and smooth...

It looks like a Marshmallow!
It tastes like a Marshmallow...It is a marshmallow!
What a fun week...We have fun despite me feeling under the weather...So just imagine the fun we will have when I feel top notch! Dinosaurs next week!!
