Fall

Another great week. This week we explored fall and how animals prepare for the colder weather.
We worked on the letter Ss. The kiddos explored our friends names to see who has that letter in their names. We did our Ss hunt and our independent dot sheet. This week see if your kiddo can tell you what letter their name begins with...if they can work on them learning how to verbally spell it out loud.
This week we continued to work on understanding the value of numbers. The kiddos rolled a dot cube and gave the squirrel acorns to match that number. They are doing really well with 1:1 counting. Have your child practice counting to you up to 15.
We worked on sorting colored pom-poms while using plastic tweezers to strengthen their hands. We also had a fun fine motor skill adding foam beads to a pipe cleaner...these little hands are getting stronger everyday! We really are working on tracing right now...see if you kiddo can trace their names at home or even just lines.
`               During craft time we made acorns with our sweet little hands...such a keepsake! We also let the kiddos explore using tissue paper, glue, and other fun craft items to decorate an acorn! Allowing kiddos to explore their own crafty ways is so important!
This month we are learning to be thankful for everything God has given us...We talked about things that we are thankful for. I will post the link to the new song we are learning as well to go along with this unit.
For our book study we are continuing with Laura Numeroff. Her stories bring such delight to the kiddos!! We will continue reading her stories until the end of November.
Next week is our picture week. We have the privilege of Brook Hollis coming to take our photos. These are always nothing short of amazing!
