Dental Awareness and Community Helper Week

This was a fun week to explore jobs...jobs that we have, jobs that our parents have, and jobs that others have that help us! We also took some time to talk about the importance of keeping our teeth healthy. We worked on the letter Cc and the number 8.

Thursday:
We spent all of Thursday on our teeth.
Adventures with Pokey. I'm not sure where my Gumby picture went...sorry!  I will take a new one with that sweet kiddo next week

Making a toothbrush!

These kiddos have become glue stick masters!

Minds-in-Motion  room!

Practicing some good teeth brushing!

C is for crab...

non-standard units of measurement. We used buttons, bears, and cubes to measure the length of a tooth brush. We worked on 1:1 counting and talked about how our measurement with different items varied.

Healthy vs. Treats...

 Friday:
Community helpers...
Our community helper belt. We got to pick 3 jobs we would like to do when we are older...

Our special visitor Dr. Emily. She is veterinarian.

A big helper...

We talked about the importance of the traffic lights. Then the kiddos got to make one of their own. They had to tear paper and fill in the circles. Paper tearing is great for strengthening their little fingers. The smaller they tear the stronger their hands are.

Future dentists...

These always make me smile...Our jobs as parents. My son came home saying my job was to talk. I do love to talk!

A detective came to visit us! How cool. He talked about following rules and even showed us his vest and handcuffs!

What an exciting week! Next week is all about love...Valentine's Day!
