A New Beginning!

What a wonderful start to this new school year. I feel super blessed to have each and everyone of these sweet kiddos in my room! I can't wait to see what this wonderful year holds. This week we worked on the theme, "All about Me!" The number 1 and the letter M. My goal this year is to make learning a fun and hands-on experience...and incorporate much needed social play!

Thursday:
Such sweet friends!

She loves cars!

Oh...So many legos! Where to begin??

A little cooking and dress up time!

A sweet princess at a puppet show.

Dinosaurs galore!

Play time!

Cheese!!

Preschool is hard work!

Snack time with friends! YUM!

Independent dot sheet. Learning about the letter Mm

One special fingerprint.
This year we will also be working on proper pencil grip. I will often send home some great tips to encourage that grip!

Mm is for marshmallows!

After reading, "A Pocket Full of Kisses" we made special handprints...and added a sweet heart with a kiss from us! We hope this warms your heart!

I love handprints...We will make so many this year. I hope that you treasure them as much as I do! Just remember...their hands will never be this small again (tears).

After listening to the book, "Pete the Cat...Rocking in his school shoes." We had to show off our school shoes!

Our sweet friends "Rocked their first day of preschool!"

Our first day emotions!
 Friday:
When I grow up I want to be...
These will be in your kiddo's end of the year portfolio. I love to ask this at the beginning and the ending of the year so see how they grow and change.

Her response made me giggle! I think she was truly referring to the color I was writing with...but I wrote down exactly what she said!

How much will we grow this year?

Play time with our friends! What are they cooking up?

This was our poem of the week. The kiddos are such great readers. On Friday we went hunting for the letter Mm throughout the poem. They are super smart and great letter detectives!

Mm is for macaroni. I love this activity because it is a great fine motor skill. It is hard work for those sweet kiddos to pinch and grasp such small noodles. I will spend a great deal of time this year focusing on those fine motor skills and strengthening those sweet hands and fingers!

Some things you can do at home....using scissors allowing them to cut play-doh or yarn. Tearing and/or hole punching paper or play-doh.

Our self portraits. Check these out on my bulletin board in the hallway.

Great tracing sweet buddy...and look at that rockstar pencil grip!

Stamping the letter Mm.

Puppet show and giggles!

Sweet buddies! Melts my heart!

A life size doll house...and a perfect sweet gal!

A movie star in the making!
Again...what a super week. I am so blessed to have each one of these sweet kiddos. Next week our theme will be Family and Friends...we will work on the number 1 and the letter Ff. Can't wait to see those faces next week! Have a super blessed weekend! Hugs!
