Gingerbread and Christmas Trees!

A week of wonderful memories! I think so many everlasting memories were made during Grandparent’s Day. We painted, we had the fun photo booth, we decorated picture frames, we ate cookies, and practiced our Christmas Program. The smiles and the laughs filled our room and school.
We are continuing to practice our Christmas Program songs at school...please practice those at home as well. Encourage your little ones to sing and do the motions.
We worked on the letter Nn this week and continued working on number sense 0-5. The kiddos had fun adding “light bulbs” to their Christmas trees while counting.
We painted with evergreen tree branches, tasted gingerbread men and graphed which part did we ate first (a fun math skill). We even worked on fine motor skills and practiced tracing with proper pencil grip. The kiddos decorated a gingerbread ornament and recited the poem inserting their name: Run, run as fast as you can...you can’t catch _______ I’m the gingerbread man!
We read some sweet Christmas Tree stories and the fun gingerbread fairy tale stories as well.
Next week we will have our Polar Express day. The kiddos can wear their pajamas to school Friday (please make sure they wear their shoes). We will watch some clips of the movie and have hot chocolate and cookies. We will even get bells of our own...and they will ring so we believe!

This week with your kiddos...
1. Practice the Christmas Program songs
2. Have them verbally spell their name
3. Have them point and count 7 objects
4. See if they can count to 15
5. Read their sweet new gingerbread poem in their folders

Making memories with our special guests!

After our painting was done...we got to be silly and have our pictures taken!
