This theme is always a fun theme...especially Friday! This week we spent some time preparing some very special gifts that will be sent home next Friday (Don’t open until Christmas!). We worked on the letter Rr and practiced making our names.
We are continuing to practice for the Christmas program...Please continue encouraging your little one to sing and do the motions at home!
For the letter Rr we painted a reindeer and did our letter hunt. The kiddos had fun making “reindeer food” too. We also worked on making a train using the letters of our name. The kiddos needed to order the letters...they are doing so well with this...this is something easy you can do at home.
The kiddos prepared a Christmas letter for Santa, I love hearing what they are wishing for...they are as simple as a “blue present”...to wanting a real live horse!
The kiddos had fun painting with hot chocolate paint (a mixture of glue, shaving cream, and cocoa powder...I had to really encourage NO tasting!
A fun fine motor skill we did was to bead a pipe cleaner to make a candy cane...I attached the true meaning of the candy cane to it...this makes for a great Christmas ornament!
During Polar Express we watched the “Hot Chocolate” clip, ate cookies and drank hot cocoa. We read the story, they got train tickets, and bells to prove they can still hear the ring and believe! A fun and magical time.. Plus, I love seeing them in their jammies (not to mention...how easy was it is to get them ready for preschool! Lol!!)
Things to do with you kiddo this week:
1. Find something that begins with the letter Rr
2. Sing the abc's
3. Tell you what Christmas is all about
4. Count to 15
5. Verbally spell their name
6. Count 7 items using 1:1 counting (point to each item as they count)...encourage them to do this slowly
