Pets...

We had an exciting third week! We talked about pets, got to meet a service dog, worked on the letter Pp, and had some fun sorting and counting.

Thursday:
After reading "Not Norman" we started our very own Norman fish...tomorrow we added our hand prints...

Great minds think alike...and smile!
They sure make me smile!

Playing Veterinarians...

Hard a work painting his fish bowl!

Future engineers!

Our special guest and his special dog.
This service dog is trained to recognize anxiety.

We got to pet her at the end. What a wonderful and educational visit!

Girls like mud too!

Practicing our Pp dot sheet.

They sort the bones by color and practice 1:1 counting.

We then learned how to order bones from biggest to smallest.

Lacing a princess...this is a great fine motor task!

Lacing a pirate! A natural!

Our detectives...looking for Pp's

We played..."Doggy, Doggy Where's My Bone?"

 Friday:
Finishing our Normans

Scientist meets princes...

Super Hero meets princess!

We ended our James Dean (Pete the Cat author) Author Study. We got to choose our favorite book. I read a little bit about this great author and showed them a picture of the real Pete. I then gave each child a special book to take home!

The voted favorite.

Practicing "Pp is for Push-ups"
Pretty good form...

Another great fine motor skills... these sweeties will have super strong fingers by the end of this year...and great eye/hand coordination!

They told me about their pets at home...we traced the number with our fingers and stamped paw prints for each one!

She rocked making a zero. Since she didn't have any pets at home I let her have fun stamping the paw print on another paper. Stamping is so much fun at this age!

Working with pattern blocks!

I could just gobble this face!

Playing doctor!
What an amazing week. We had so much fun!!  I know I say this all the time but I am so blessed to work with each one of these kiddos! This week we will begin our author study on Eric Carle...and he is also our theme of the week!
