Turkeys and Thanksgiving...

We have so much to be thankful for. We learned this week about the Mayflower and the true reason we celebrate Thanksgiving. We also were blessed to have a 100% Native American visit us and teach us about their traditions, dances, and attire. We continued working on numbers 0-5, counting to 15, and the letter Tt.

Thursday:
We asked the kiddos what they were thankful for. We had so many wonderful responses...these will be super sweet on your Thanksgiving table!

Sorting our Fruit Loops...

A yummy and great fine motor task for those sweet fingers!

What would you do if you were a Thanksgiving turkey? Run, hide or disguise?
We did this after reading my favorite Thanksgiving story by Eve Bunting, Thanksgiving Turkey

They then had to count out 5 feathers for our turkey. They are getting so great at counting 1:1 and understanding the value of a number.

Our special guest.

Learning a Native American dance.
 Friday:
Do you like pumpkin pie? Of course we had to taste it to find out!

Feathering some turkeys!

Going for a ride!

Tearing paper to make a T. This is super challenging for small hands. Tearing paper is very hard. The smaller they tear the stronger their fingers are. Such an easy and great activity at home!

Her tiny fingers are hard at work.

Hand print Mayflower!

Have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving! Remember no school this week! When we come back it will be December! Remember to practice the holiday songs for our program!
