Friday:
We started our morning with our daily morning message. The question of the day was: How do you feel today? I made a list of: Happy, Sad, Nervous, Excited, or Mad. The kiddos marked their emotions and we talked about the way were were feeling (we even turned it into a quick math lesson and counted and discussed more/less)...We then discussed what the New Year was and what a New Year's resolution is...we made a list and then came up with our own!
Craft time! They told us what they wanted to work on this year. A few include: reading, riding a bike, sleeping more, and spending more time with our families! |
We then used straws and food coloring to make fireworks. |

We read one of my favorite stories! This book is great because it tells you to like yourself no matter what...we are all different and special in so many ways! |
For our independent activity they stamped their very own special/unique fingerprints! |
A huge welcome to our newest sweet friend! |
Dot roll math. Here is the link on where I got my idea. This link if for an alphabet activity...so it just shows you can take an idea and then make it your own! Try this at home!! The kiddos loved it and it is so simple! http://www.pre-kpages.com/spring-race-to-the-top-game/ |
The kiddos took turns and rolled our dot cube. They counted the number and then made that value on their dot sheet with dotters. |
My New Year's resolution for these kiddos is to be able to write at least their first name by the end of the year! |
Trace and Write... |

What's for lunch? |
Library in the boat! A class favorite! |
We read another book about emotions and then.... |
We made a face on the way we were feeling. I gave them mirrors to check out their sweet faces...to help them draw the way they felt! |
Look at this HAPPY face! |
