Gingerbread...trees....and lights!

Christmas is always a fun time of year! So many fun things to do and to learn about! We had fun reading 5 different versions of the Gingerbread Man story!

Thursday:
Making our very own gingerbread!

They did an awesome job peeling those tricky stickers!

Oh...the thrill!

Perfection my sweet gingerbread friends!

Letter Gg four box! These kiddos have come so far! They practically do this sheet on their own! Making letter learning fun!

Number sense time! The kiddos used pom-pom balls and pretended they were lights to add to their trees! for each tree they had to add the correct number of lights. This was great for many reasons counting using 1:1 correspondence, fine motor skills of picking up each pom-pom one by one, number identification.

I stapled a bag with the pom-poms in them so they could show you their skills at home!

Pencil grip...an on-going work in progress!

Much better sweet friend! I provided a link to give you some ideas on how you can help improve your kiddos grip at home!

I gave each kiddo a gingerbread cookie. I then asked them to take 1 bite and only one bite! We then graphed who ate what part first! A fun way to end our day!

 We read this sweet story:

"Deep in the forest, a tiny pine tree waits impatiently to grow tall enough to be chosen as a Christmas tree. As the seasons change, the little tree revels in the beauty of her world and the gifts nature brings — the sky, wind, sun, and rain. Then one day, it suddenly occurs to her: What if she isn’t selected as a Christmas tree? Slowly, she begins to consider what other opportunities life may hold for her. Rabbits and squirrels always need shelter, and her branches, though not festooned with garlands and ornaments, could still provide a cozy winter nest for birds. She could even be welcomed into a family’s home as a window frame. Once again, the little pine tree is happy and hopeful, thankful for life’s boundless possibilities. Simple prose and enchanting illustrations bring this charming story to life."

We then made our very own "Littlest Christmas Trees" Our lives have endless possibilities and so much hope!

So sweet!
