What a perfect time of year to have leaves as our theme! They are turning and are so beautiful. We worked on the letter L and numbers 0-5. This week I also began a quick assessment to see how the kiddos are doing...I am so impressed with them! Remember...none of this is expected of them and they are still 3! I just like to have an idea of where they are at and it will help you have an idea where they are as well!
This week we worked on the letter L. The kiddos did their letter hunt and dot sheet. We also got to “lace” the letter L (this was a great fine motor skill)
We are going to be working on the numbers 0-5 from now until Christmas. We will work on number sense and number identification. We played a fun dot cube roll game to work on 1:1 counting and identification. Up to this point we have been working on the kiddos counting to 10. We will now increase to 15. We have also worked on 1:1 counting 5 objects...this will now increase to 7
For our leaf crafts the kiddos made leaf animals, we also made a cute leaf hedgehog.
We explored leaves, picked leaves out to do a survey, and even used most of our senses to describe them. The only sense we didn’t use was taste...lol! The kiddos also had fun using shapes (tanograms) to make leaf and other fall shapes.
This week for our bible study we learned that we do not need to fear...for our Lord is always with us.
Next week is our Halloween Celebration starting at 10:15. If you can help with the game station let me know! Remember, your kiddo can wear their costume to school...but...BUT… please make sure they are potty friendly. A costume they can easily get on and off independently. If you send in a special treat that day...please remember to make sure it is completely nut free!!
We have been working on your kiddos identifying their name. Our next step is for them to identify the first letter of their name and verbally know what it is...My name is Laura and it begins with L...this is the letter L. We will be working towards the kiddos to verbally spell their name here soon to. Sometimes coming up with a sweet song spelling their names is helpful “R - U—B-Y Ruby is my name, Ruby is my name. That is how I got my little gal to spell her name.
